ECG Recording Reimagined

Introducing the Personal Cardiac Assistant, PCA. The world’s smallest, hospital-grade certified, 12-lead ECG recorder that can be used by anyone and anywhere.

Hello to the PCA

The PCA system is a 21st century, connected medical device and a complete solution for recording of an ECG. It is so compact that it can be transported in your pocket. The PCA totally transforms and streamlines the traditional 12-lead ECG recording that has been around for ages.

The PCA is the world’s first and only FDA-cleared, hospital-quality, 12-lead ECG for both professional and personal use. In fact, it’s the only 12 -lead ECG that can be completed by patients themselves and this has never been possible at all with conventional ECG machines.

Combining hospital-grade accuracy, reliability, mobile technology, advanced software algorithms and cloud-based management, the PCA system set new standards in recording, storing, and retrieving of ECG data.

Used together with our ingenious and patented single piece, prepositioned, preconnected electrode strips, the PCA is indeed a pioneering medical device and our contribution to healthcare for the next generation. The possibilities of the PCA in healthcare is unmeasurable.

Your Heart

Early Clinical Insights

An ECG records the electrical signals in your heart. It’s a common, painless, and non-invasive test used to quickly detect underlying heart problems and/or monitor your heart’s health.

This is a basic test that should be performed annually, even for those who are younger. Your doctor may also suggest an ECG as a screening test, even with no symptoms, if you have a family history of heart disease.

An ECG is used to determine or detect abnormal heart rhythm (arrhythmias), if blocked or narrowed arteries in your heart (coronary artery disease) are causing chest pain or a heart attack, whether you have had a previous heart attack or how well certain heart disease treatments, such as a pacemaker, are working.

Though you may be fit, feel healthy and classified as low risk, an ECG is advised if you experience any of the following.

Ingenious PCA

PCA is the Smarter Way to Heart Health

An ECG is one of the simplest and fastest tools used to evaluate the heart. But with the PCA and its modern features, it’s the indispensable medical device for the 21st century.

Traditionally, trained medical personnel apply small electrodes at predetermined areas on the chest, arms, and legs. These must be correctly placed to ensure error free recordings. These electrodes must then be connected to an ECG machine via the corresponding lead wires. The electrical activity of the heart is then captured and interpreted by a clinician. This is usually performed in a medical facility where 12-lead ECGs are usually available.

The 12-lead PCA completes this process in a much-simplified way, whether in a medical facility or at home, while still providing the exacting standards that clinicians rely on as compared to a conventional ECG machine. It was created to help people who suffer from chronic heart disease, healthy people who would like to fully comprehend their heart health, and those that have difficulty in making their way to a medical facility to have their ECG completed.

The PCA will enable millions of patients to be managed remotely or for themselves to manage and monitor their heart health from the comfort of their home, as no medical training is required to complete an ECG with the PCA system.

The PCA provides unparalleled possibilities, convenience, accessibility, and quality to heart health care.

Heart of the PCA

Distinctive Electrode Strip

Our one-of-a-kind, patented, single-use electrode strip has all 10 individual electrodes prepositioned and preconnected. Its sole created purpose was to reduce 100 miles of lead wires to ZERO.

Oftentimes, the many lead wires intertwine with each other, and time is spent sorting them out. Additional time is required for matching the right lead-wire with the right electrode, and the trained staff usually required to perform this role.

Our unique, single-piece electrode strips save you up to 70% of placement time and procedural time by 30%.

Not only does it enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in electrode placement, the PCA system is also FDA certified and cleared for anyone to perform a self-activated, medical-standard, 12-lead ECG in the comfort of their home or anywhere else. This is a 1st in the world. It is not just for use in medical institutions but has been proven usable by patients themselves with no medical training.

Our Quick Guide provides clear instructions so that anyone may select the right size electrode strip, apply it precisely and record their ECG successfully.

PCA Application

The Unprecedented Possibilities with PCA

Clinics and Urgent Care Centres

The PCA offers compelling advantages over conventional ECG.

The PCA system streamlines workflow, reduces the need for trained personnel, and makes it most efficient as the ECGs are managed in the cloud. This data in PDF makes it easy for uploading to the EMR, and clinicians can access it wherever they are.

The prepositioned electrode strips allow for easy, accurate and consistent ECG recordings. With no lead wires in the way, there is a much lesser risk of costly-to-treat infection and need for frequent disinfection.

With its compact size, an ECG can now be remotely recorded for their patients, which was mostly not practical with conventional ECG machines as they are bulky.

Overall, all ECG procedures are completed much quicker, with less hassle, at a fraction of the cost compared to a top of the range ECG machine.

Transition to Telehealth

Elderly and patients with chronic illness are at a much higher risk for COVID-19 or other infections and associated morbidities. To provide high quality and uninterrupted care, more physicians are starting or expanding their telehealth practices.

There is no easy way to get a standard 12-lead ECG for telehealth patients. The PCA system offers the perfect solution for your ECG needs in telehealth practice. Hospital-quality, 12-lead ECG tests can be completed by people who have no training or even by patients themselves. The cloud-based ECG management enables results to be viewed anywhere instantly.

Home Monitoring

Patients with chronic conditions, such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmia, diabetes, and hypertension, can benefit from monthly ECG check-ups, from the comfort of their home.

Remote Care

Medical events can happen at remote places in the most unexpected time. When they occur, such as a passenger with chest pain on a flight, the decision for flight diversion can be life-saving, and costly. With the handy PCA in the aircraft, a quick 3-minute ECG can be completed, and the captain can consult the ground medical service for informed decisions.

The PCA can be used for remote care in mining sites, oil rigs, cruise ships, yachts, islands, resorts, and even military bases.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

When EMS responds to a call that someone could be having a heart attack, getting a 12-lead ECG on site, and immediately transmitting the ECG data to the receiving hospital can greatly increase chances of survival.  But getting an ECG done in the field is never easy, and errors are common.

With our electrode strips, procedural time as well as errors are greatly reduced. Our medical-quality ECG is instantly available in the cloud and an alert is sent to the receiving hospital for immediate review, even before arrival of the EMS.

Some Questions You May Have

An ECG is a painless, non-invasive recording of the electrical activity of your heart.  Our PCA system is a medical-standard, 12-lead ECG that patients can use at home for self-monitoring under a physician’s guidance.

In general, the PCA can be used by patients with chronic arrhythmia, heart failure, stable coronary artery disease, patients after cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization, and ablation procedures.

Yes. The PCA system is cleared and certified as a 12-lead ECG recorder by the FDA for both professional and personal use. A clinical trial with conventional and recognised brands showed that the PCA is comparable, as a diagnostic 12-lead ECG.

Unlike a 1-lead ECG that is used for arrhythmia detection and basic heart monitoring, a 12-lead ECG is used to provide a comprehensive view of the heart and is the medical standard for screening and diagnosing various heart conditions like arrhythmias, heart attacks, drug effects on the heart, and many other heart diseases.

Yes. Our PCA was compared directly to a market leader in a clinical trial to test for ECG quality equivalence. ECG equivalence, determined by 3 cardiologists, was higher than the equivalency level required by the FDA. Essentially, our PCA produces ECGs of the same diagnostic quality as ECG systems that are costlier, much larger and use the complicated electrode patches and cables.

Thanks to our patented, prepositioned, preconnected electrode strip, no medical or other training is required to complete a PCA ECG. Simply follow the step-by-step instructions in the Quick Guide or view the video instructions to record a 12-lead ECG accurately and without fuss. Watch how easy it is to use the PCA. Please go to Downloads and watch ‘How to Create an Account and Use the PCA App’.

Yes. The PCA system is cleared by the FDA for patients’ use at home. A clinical trial showed that more than 95% of patients were able to use the PCA to successfully complete a 12-lead ECG recording with simple instructions, videos, and the available FAQs.

For females, it is recommended to lie flat for the test. Therefore, for females and elderly patients, it is advisable to have someone to help. Please go to Downloads and read ‘Electrode Strip Placement on Female Patients’.

There are two common clinical scenarios to use the PCA at home.

Firstly, the PCA can be used as a non-urgent, standard resting 12-lead ECG for screening, diagnosis and follow up. It can be used on patients who need pre-op clearance, a routine physical check-up, weight loss program enrolment, have cardiac symptoms (palpitation, fatigue, etc.), to rule out cardiac conditions, and under surveillance of medication side effects (most notably psychiatric, antibiotic, and oncological medications).

Secondly, it can be used for monthly Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) of those with chronic medical conditions. This can be patients with intermittent arrhythmias, stable angina on medical therapy, congestive heart failure, diabetes, and hypertension.

The PCA Dashboard is optimized for Google Chrome, Safari and Firefox. The dashboard is not compatible with Internet Explorer. Please note that ECGs can only be recorded through the QT ECG App on a compatible tablet or smartphone. Please go to Downloads to view the ‘PCA Compatibility List’.

With an available internet connection, the tablet or smartphone will instantly upload the recorded ECG to the secure cloud. Please go to Downloads and watch ‘How to Create an Account and Use the PCA App’. Once initiated, you may view and download your records.

All ECGs can be downloaded in PDF format from the cloud-based dashboard. Most EMR/EHR systems allow PDF documents to be uploaded to the patient’s records. For further integration queries, please contact us.

Yes, the PCA can be used offline. For Android app only, in situations where internet connection is not available, up to 100 recorded ECGs will be saved locally on the mobile devices. The locally stored ECGs will be uploaded automatically when the mobile device is connected to the internet.

The PCA is not a continuous heart monitor. It is an on-demand, resting, 12-lead ECG recorder that provides a 10-second snapshot each time you press the “Record” button.

Yes. The PCA can detect when a pacemaker is present, and it will not affect the quality of the ECG recording. The PCA will not interfere with the function of the pacemaker as well.

No. The PCA and electrode strip should be removed if the patient requires defibrillation. For more information on defibrillation-proof products, please contact us.

When using the PCA, please avoid any area where the patient is exposed to a large magnetic field, eg. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

The PCA Electrode Strips come in sizes S, M, L, XL for adults and sizes 1, 2, 3 for paediatrics, which will be launched later. The Sizing Guide is used to easily determine the correct size for each patient. Please go to Downloads and watch ‘How to Choose the Right Electrode Strip’.

Yes. To prevent disease transmission and ensure the best ECG signal quality, the PCA Electrode Strips are one-time use. After application on a patient, the electrode strips may be repositioned and remain on the same patient. The hydrogel will begin to dry out and the quality of ECG signals cannot be guaranteed once the electrode package is open for more than 24 hours.
